Description
Found throughout Southeast Asia, Mitragyna javanica is a particularly small tree that boasts large, broad leaves. Within these leaves are the alkaloids that are the active ingredients for Mitragyna javanica products, also commonly referred to as Kra Thom Na. Mitragyna javanica is a horticultural cousin to Kratom, or Mitragyna speciosa. However, Kratom contains mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine as the most active ingredients, while Kra Thom Na contains the similar compound of mitrajavine and
a similar appearance to the Mitragyna speciosa (Kratom), there are huge differences in their chemistry. Mitragyna javanica does not contain the main alkaloids mitragynine and 3-isoajmalicine, present in large amounts.
The powdered product is derived from finely grinding the large leaves of the Mitragyna javanica tree.
